There are wedding days that feel beautiful, and then there are wedding days that feel completely unforgettable. Alex and Connor’s May celebration was the latter. On a picture perfect spring day, their wedding blended timeless details, playful design, and unforgettable moments.
Alex and Connor began their wedding day at Our Lady of Mercy, where they exchanged vows surrounded by their family and friends. Cascading arrangements of pink and white hydrangeas framed the altar, creating a soft and romantic focal point against the church’s timeless architecture.
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to Alex’s parents’ home for cocktail hour and the reception. In one of the most memorable surprises of the day, Alex’s parents brought her beloved horse Sunny to the property. Alex was able to greet her guests while riding around the grounds, making her way through cocktail hour on horseback. It was personal, unexpected, and, quite honestly, iconic.
Meanwhile, a mariachi band set the mood as guests gathered throughout the property. A lush floral covered bar anchored cocktail hour, while lounge seating and cocktail tables invited guests to relax and mingle.
For the reception, we wanted to create something that felt completely unexpected. Rather than hiding the existing tennis court, we decided to make it the foundation of the design. The court was custom painted in a color created specifically for the wedding, giving us the perfect blank canvas for a black structure tent. From there, we transformed the space into a whimsical, greenhouse inspired reception filled with layers of greenery and pink florals nestled throughout the tent structure.
The floral design softened the black frame while bringing the garden inspired vision to life. The result was romantic without feeling overly traditional and playful without losing its sophistication.
The tablescape continued that balance. A mix of oval tables, wooden rounds, and rectangular tables created an eclectic floor plan, while green velvet banquettes added rich texture. Above the oval tables, blue chandeliers brought in an unexpected pop of color, while a dramatic round black chandelier anchored the dance floor. The stage was finished with a green and white lattice backdrop, adding another layer of pattern and tying together the garden meets tennis club aesthetic.
After Alex and Connor shared their first dance, they decided to make the moment even more special by bringing their parents onto the dance floor. Alex danced with her dad while Connor danced with his mom, all four sharing the dance floor together for a beautifully sentimental moment.
Then, after an incredible dinner, it was time to really celebrate.
As soon as open dancing began, the party truly came to life. The dance floor stayed packed for the rest of the night as guests danced, celebrated, and soaked in every moment with Alex and Connor.
