Some weddings feel like they were collected over a lifetime rather than planned over the course of a year, and Katie & Sam’s celebration at Glenstone Gardens was exactly that. Set against one of Virginia’s most picturesque garden venues, their wedding embraced a beautifully curated “grandma chic” aesthetic, blending vintage treasures, timeless details, and effortless garden romance into a day that felt deeply personal.

Katie & Sam exchanged vows surrounded by Glenstone Gardens lush landscapes and overflowing seasonal blooms, with a ceremony that felt as though it had naturally grown from the gardens themselves. The romantic setting provided the perfect backdrop for a day rooted in nostalgia, beauty, and intentional design.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered on the lawn for fresh oysters, signature spritzes, and cocktails while wandering through the gardens before making their way to the reception tent. One of the most memorable details was the escort card display, where each guest’s seating assignment was pinned to an intricate wall of vintage doilies. A charming nod to the inspiration behind the entire celebration.

As guests made their way into the reception tent, they were welcomed by thoughtfully layered tablescapes featuring vintage-inspired china, soft patterned linens, glowing candlelight, and curated details that felt both timeless and deeply personal. Every place setting contributed to the collected “grandma chic” aesthetic, creating a reception that was effortlessly elegant and full of character.

Inspired by Katie’s love of thrifting, vintage fashion, and antique shopping, every design element told a story. Thoughtfully layered textures, heirloom-inspired rentals, and delicate floral prints transformed the reception into a space that felt like discovering your grandmother’s most treasured china collection, in the very best way. The overall design was nostalgic yet refined, striking the perfect balance between collected charm and elevated elegance.

As the evening settled in, the celebration shifted into high gear. The Jordan Kahn Orchestra kept the dance floor full from the very first song, creating an unforgettable party atmosphere. Katie and Sam surprised their guests with a fun outfit change before revealing one final surprise.

A hidden after-party tucked just beyond the reception tent. Wrapped in shimmering silver draping and filled with playful vintage lounge furniture, the space offered an entirely new experience complete with late-night fried bites, cocktails, and nonstop dancing into the night.
