Lindsey & Nick’s rehearsal dinner at Salamander Middleburg was the perfect start to their wedding weekend. While we had originally planned to celebrate in the property’s beautiful Culinary Garden, Mother Nature had other plans. With rain in the forecast, we moved the celebration indoors and transformed one of Salamander’s elegant ballrooms into an intimate Italian inspired dinner.
Despite the change of plans, Lindsey & Nick never let the weather dampen their excitement. They were simply thrilled to be surrounded by their closest friends and family. The evening was all about slowing down, celebrating their story, and enjoying time with the people who mean the most to them.
The design for the evening was inspired by Italy and the couple’s roots. We wanted the tablescapes to feel colorful, warm, and collected while still complementing the elegance of the Salamander.
The color palette brought together various shades of blue, green, and yellow. Each table featured layered details that added color and texture without feeling overly formal. The tablescapes felt both elevated and welcoming, perfectly setting the tone for an evening centered around family, connection, and celebration.
One of our favorite details was Lindsey & Nick’s take on the traditional place card. Instead of a standard escort card, they wanted to create something more meaningful. With that in mind, the couple chose a unique keepsake that guests could take home. Each guest received an engraved pasta spoon with their name, creating a thoughtful keepsake that tied beautifully into the Italian inspired theme.
The menu continued the Italian inspiration, with a delicious spread designed to bring everyone together around the table. Guests began with Italian wedding soup before choosing from favorites including chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, and shrimp scampi. Family style dishes filled the tables, encouraging everyone to pass plates, share bites, and settle into the relaxed rhythm of a long Italian dinner. Dessert brought the evening to a sweet finish, giving guests one more reason to linger and enjoy one another’s company.
While the setting may have changed, the heart of the evening stayed exactly as Lindsey & Nick imagined. Surrounded by their favorite people, enjoying incredible food and an Italian-inspired celebration, their rehearsal dinner was a beautiful reminder that the best moments are often the ones spent simply together.
