Every year, Grit & Grace hosts one of our favorite industry events, and somehow Laura manages to outdo herself every single time. This year’s Love Brunch, took place on Valentine’s Day at Salamander Middleburg. It was one of those events that leaves you walking away completely inspired.

From the moment we stepped into the ballroom, it didn’t even feel like the same space. Laura completely transformed it by recarpeting the entire room and draping every wall. One side was wrapped in shimmering silver draping, while the other featured rich navy velvet drapes. Together, they created the most beautiful contrast. Every detail felt intentional, and together they made the ballroom feel immersive, cozy, and incredibly luxurious.

One of our favorite details was how guests found their seats. Instead of a traditional escort display, guests spun a lit-up installation framed by a whimsical balloon arch. They discovered which table they were sitting at in a fun, interactive way. The twist? Every guest was seated with others who shared their zodiac sign. It was such a memorable way to kick off the event. Naturally, everyone couldn’t wait to compare signs and see who they’d be dining with.

The tablescapes continued the zodiac theme in the most creative way. Each table represented a different zodiac sign while also fitting into the overall design of the room. Laura used bold primary colors throughout the tables, strategically placing each one around the ballroom to mirror the zodiac wheel. It was one of those design details you might not immediately notice. However, once you saw the bigger picture, you couldn’t help but appreciate the thought and creativity behind every inch of the event.

As wedding planners, we always love seeing events that go beyond beautiful décor. This brunch reminded us that the most memorable designs are the ones that tell a story. Every element worked together seamlessly. From the dramatic draping and custom flooring to the interactive escort display and thoughtfully designed tablescapes, each detail helped create an experience that completely immersed guests.
