Styled Photo Shoot

French Colonial Styled Photo Shoot | Ballenger Farm | Loudoun County, VA

Loudoun County, Virginia is quickly becoming a go-to wedding destination! With a wide variety of wedding venues – vineyards, barns, country clubs, and estate properties – every couple is sure to find their dream venue here. We’re also surrounded by and meeting new creative vendors here every day. From florists to bakers to calligraphers, Loudoun is bursting with talent making it an ideal place to host your wedding.

With this styled shoot, we decided to showcase a more intimate side of Loudoun County weddings. We gathered at one of our favorite rustic venues and handpicked some of our closest vendor friends. We created a color story and had an inspiration picture that we shared with the vendors. We trusted in their creativity, judgement, and experience and let their imagination take over. We were wowed with what each vendor brought to the table – literally!

The styled shoot took place at Ballenger Farm, in Hamilton, VA. A colonial, French-style venue, Ballenger is the perfect location for a intimate and rustic wedding. The stone walls, traditional fireplaces, old barns and natural wood surroundings make Ballenger so special. This venue was recently remodeled and started holding events in 2018. The care, details, and decor that went into this venue make it stand out amongst all the others!

Megan McGlynn, the amazing artist and owner of Scout’s Bakeshop, created a masterpiece with her decadent, watercolor-painted cake. She incorporated all of the colors from our inspiration picture and it could not have been a more perfect fit for our vision. Not only was it a gorgeous cake, it was also delicious and paired beautifully with Walsh  Family Wines, another vendor at the shoot.

Bee’s Wing Farm pulled the whole thing together with her choice of greenery, all foraged from her backyard in Bluemont, VA. Her use of eucalyptus, ferns, and other local greens brought such a natural feel to our table and bridal bouquet.

All vendors that participated in this shoot were so amazing to work with. Their creativity and design all came together perfectly and allowed us to create this beautiful styled shoot. Our goal was to showcase another side of Loudoun County weddings. A wedding that is intimate and rustic yet full of details. All of the work that went into this shoot came from Loudoun County creatives that truly love what they do, as you can tell by their work. We hope you enjoy this collection as much as we enjoyed creating it. Loudoun County has so much to offer!
