Last October, Shelby and Jacob’s wedding dreams came to life at the stunning Dover Hall in Richmond, Virginia. Their wedding was a perfect blend of timeless elegance and unique, personal details that reflected their style. Every moment, from the morning preparations to their romantic first dance, felt straight out of a fairytale.
Shelby’s morning began surrounded by her closest friends in matching pink pajamas with playful feathered cuffs, setting the tone for a joyful day ahead. The atmosphere was full of excitement and laughter as they prepared for the ceremony. Shelby wore a stunning satin bridal gown with a sparkly veil that hung elegantly behind her. Her bridesmaids complemented the bride’s elegance in chic black dresses, paired with black gloves, and carried sleek white calla lily bouquets.
The ceremony took place in Dover Hall’s opulent Great Hall, with its soaring ceilings and a dramatic stone fireplace adorned with lush white florals. Guests were greeted with custom wedding programs styled as a newspaper titled The Newlywed Times, a fun and unique touch that narrated the couple’s journey and the timeline of the day. Shelby and Jacob exchanged vows in front of their family and friends in an intimate and romantic setting. The couple’s love radiated as the sunlight poured through the tall windows, highlighting the joy on their faces.
For their reception, we transformed the space with long tables, black accents, and glowing candlelight that perfectly complemented the romantic ambiance. A neon sign reading “The Coates” hung above the fireplace, creating the perfect photo backdrop for the evening. Shelby and Jacob shared their first dance on a black-and-white checkered floor under the soft glow of the chandeliers, an elegant moment that left everyone in awe. The reception tables were adorned with elegant blue and white china, soft candlelight, and delicate white floral arrangements. Each guest received a miniature bottle of limoncello, a nod to the couple’s appreciation for European charm.
