Zubia + Rezwan // Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion – Houston, TX // Planner, Vida Events
Our first Texas wedding was one for the books! The details were astonishing. They got married at the Cherie Flores Garden Pavilion in Houston, TX.
The night before the wedding was the Mehndi Ceremony. Mehndi is a tradition pre wedding ceremony which starts the beginning of the wedding ceremonies. Mehndi originated in South Asia and is made up of dried henna leaves that are made into a paste. The Mehndi Ceremony is where the bride to be is adorned in elegant and highly elaborate mehndi designs on her hands and feet. Designs symbolize various blessings, luck, and love, and often times the groom’s name is hidden within the design and they play a game where the bride tries to find the hidden name. Tradition says that the deeper the color of the Mehndi, the happier the bride and groom’s marriage will be. The ceremony is a colorful and cheerful event for all who attend.
The small details that went into the decor for this wedding really pulled all of it together! The deep burgundy and light pink in the floral arrangements really complimented each other. The use of florals in different areas tied the room together and made for a beautiful reception space.
All of the details for the Nikkah Ceremony were absolutely stunning. A Nikkah Ceremony is the Muslim wedding ceremony. It is here that the marriage certificate is signed, rings are exchanged, and the couple says “I Do!” Zubia and Rezwan had the most beautiful wedding weekends surrounded by friends and family and we are so thankful that we got to be apart of it!
